Terms & Conditions
1. Scope of Services
Proper Painting provides professional interior and exterior painting services. Our work includes surface preparation, priming, followed by finishing coats as detailed in your specific project proposal. Any services not explicitly listed in the written estimate are considered outside the current scope of work.
2. Estimates and Pricing
All estimates are valid for 30 days. Final pricing is based on the finalized scope of work. If hidden damage or unforeseen conditions (such as lead-based paint or structural rot) are discovered during the project, we will provide a revised estimate before proceeding.
3. Deposits and Payments
A deposit is required to secure your project on our schedule. Progress payments may be requested for large projects. Final payment is due immediately upon completion. We accept major credit cards, checks, and electronic bank transfers.
4. Scheduling and Access
Project start dates are estimated and can be impacted by weather or previous project delays. Clients must provide access to the property during standard working hours (8 AM - 5 PM). This includes access to water, electricity, and restroom facilities where applicable.
5. Client Responsibilities
- Removing fragile items, electronics, and valuables from the work area.
- Clearing surfaces and moving heavy furniture unless otherwise agreed.
- Ensuring pets are secured away from the work zone.
- Approving paint colors and finishes in writing prior to start.
6. Color Approvals and Change Orders
We recommend viewing paint samples in your specific lighting. Once a color is applied, changes will require a written Change Order and will incur additional labor and material costs. Verbal changes are not binding.
7. Workmanship Warranty
Proper Painting offers a standard warranty on labor, covering peeling or blistering due to faulty application. This warranty does not cover damage caused by settling, structural movement, moisture intrusion, or normal wear and tear. Material failures are covered by respective manufacturer warranties.
8. Limitations of Liability
Proper Painting is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific services rendered. We maintain appropriate general liability insurance for your protection.
9. Photos for Marketing
We may take "before" and "after" photos of our work for marketing, social media, or website use. We respect your privacy and will never include street numbers, last names, or sensitive personal items in these photos without express permission.
10. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Notice of at least 48 hours is required to reschedule your project without penalty. Last-minute cancellations may result in the forfeiture of your deposit to cover scheduled labor and material handling.
11. Safety and Compliance
We adhere to OSHA safety standards and local building codes. Clients and guests are asked to avoid the active work zone for their own safety. Proper Painting is a Licensed and Insured contractor operating in compliance with US regulations.
12. Site Content and Property
All original content, logos, and digital materials on this website are the intellectual property of Proper Painting. Use of these materials without written consent is prohibited.
13. Privacy and Governing Law
We collect only the information necessary to provide our services and do not sell your data to third parties. These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in local courts.
